Why Insurance Matters
Mountaineering and high-altitude trekking are extreme activities that take place in some of the most remote regions on earth. Even with careful planning and experienced guides, injuries, sudden illness, and emergency evacuations can and do happen. Comprehensive travel insurance is not a formality — it can be the difference between a manageable situation and a life-threatening one.
SECTION 02
Mandatory Insurance Requirement
Travel insurance is a mandatory condition of booking any expedition, or peak climb with Alpinist Climber Expeditions Pvt. Ltd. (“ACE”). Travel insurance is not included in your trip price. It is your responsibility to arrange a policy that is valid for the full duration of your trip, including any extra days spent in Nepal before or after your itinerary.

SECTION 04
High-Altitude & Activity-Specific Coverage
Many standard travel insurance policies exclude high-altitude trekking, mountaineering, or technical climbing above a certain elevation. Before you purchase a policy, please check carefully that it covers the maximum altitude and specific activities included in your itinerary. If your policy has an altitude limit, make sure it is higher than the highest point of your trip.
SECTION 05
Proof of Insurance
Please send us a copy of your insurance policy, including your policy number, provider, and 24-hour emergency contact number, before your trip begins. We keep this information on file so that our team can act quickly on your behalf in an emergency.
SECTION 06
Emergency Evacuation & Rescue Costs
In the event of a medical emergency, our guides and expedition leaders will arrange evacuation and rescue as quickly as conditions safely allow. Unless your insurer has made prior arrangements to pay costs directly, all emergency evacuation and rescue costs must be paid in cash in Nepal at the time they are incurred. We strongly recommend confirming with your insurer, before you travel, that they offer direct payment or a guarantee of payment for helicopter rescue in Nepal.
SECTION 07
Filing a Claim
Filing an insurance claim is your responsibility. If needed, ACE can help provide supporting documentation, such as confirmation of your itinerary, incident reports, or receipts for evacuation costs, but we cannot file a claim on your behalf or guarantee the outcome of your claim.
SECTION 08
What This Policy Does Not Cover
ACE does not provide travel insurance, and we are not an insurance provider or broker. We do not cover any costs related to medical treatment, evacuation, trip cancellation, lost belongings, or any other losses that should be covered under your own travel insurance policy.

Your Responsibility
• Purchase a policy that meets the minimum coverage requirements above
• Confirm your policy covers the specific altitude and activities of your trip
• Keep your policy details and emergency contact number with you at all times during your trip
• Send us your insurance details before departure
• Pay any evacuation or emergency costs not covered directly by your insurer
SECTION 10
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Insurance Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our services, safety practices, or industry standards. The version published on our website at the time of your booking applies to your trip.
