Ama Dablam is considered one of the most technical climbs in Nepal. In September 2022 Alpinist Climber Expeditions team attempt Ama Dablam alpine style. Most of the climbers attempt the mountain only with the fixed rope as alpine style requires a good training and experience in technical peaks. Our team leader and IFMGA mountain guide lead the team safety to Camp 3 and return back due to unfavorable snow conditions. Even though, everyone enjoyed the climb and the mountain without crowds.
The route to camp 3 included the infamous yellow tower located at 5,800m just below Camp two and it’s one of the hardest parts of the climb especially while climbing without the fixed rope as the difficulty level changes completely.

After the acclimatisation rotation to the exposed camp two, the team left for camp 3 via the grey couloir and the mushroom ridge in really hard conditions as the new soft snow made the team moving slowly. After crossing the mushroom ridge the team decided to abandon the mountain due to the hard conditions and everyone returned happily back to base camp.
